The south end of US 341 has always been in Brunswick GA. Today it comes into Brunswick having been co-signed with US 25 all the way from Jesup - a distance of about 40 miles. At first, US 341 probably ended north of downtown (along with US 25 after 1936), where those routes junctioned US 17. The photo below is looking south on Old Jesup Road:

Watkins, Jan. 2008

My guess is that this is the road that carried US 341 in 1926 (and US 25 too, after 1936). The road ahead is Newcastle Street - it was the original US 17, so US 25/341 probably ended at this junction. At some point (perhaps in the 1950s) US 17 was rerouted, so US 25 and US 341 were extended into town along what had been US 17. The sign in the gore is shown close-up below:

Watkins, Jan. 2008

US 25/341 was extended to the left via Newcastle (old US 17). To the right was also originally US 17, which immediately veered off to the west and then south via today's GA hwy. 303. That may also have been the original east beginning of US 84, which would've followed US 17 for a few miles before splitting off on its own towards Waycross, via today's US 82 (however, I think it's more likely that US 84 began at that split - photos on this page). Anyway: now US 25/341 traffic has been moved off Old Jesup Road, instead following the road to the right, which becomes New Jesup Highway.

US 25/341 traffic was originally directed through Brunswick on Newcastle, but today bypasses the downtown area via Bay Street. US 25 splits off onto Gloucester Street, while US 341 continues about a mile further south on Bay, returns to Newcastle, and then heads east on Fourth Avenue. Both routes end at their junctions with US 17, or Glynn Avenue. The photo below shows the assembly posted on eastbound Fourth at Glynn:

Just ahead, on the far side of the divided highway, an "End" sign is posted:

Nitzman, July 2004

The sign below is posted on northbound Glynn, just before its intersection with Fourth:

If you take that left turn, the first northbound confirming marker is soon visible:

Originally the north end of US 341 was at its junction with its parent (US 41) in Perry GA. The photo below is looking north on US 41:

Nelson, Aug. 2005

The north beginning of US 341 used to be to the right. Apparently for only about one year the designation extended left, all the way up to Atlanta. But then US 341 was cut back to Perry again for another decade or so. In 1949 the north end of US 341 was extended about halfway to Atlanta, ending at US 41 in Barnesville. At the time, the current US 341 bypass hadn't been built, so US 341 came into town on Murphy Avenue and then turned north on Thomaston Street, ending where it met US 41 downtown:

Rhea, Mar. 2008

The black suv is northbound on Main (that turns into Thomaston about a block behind the camera), so he's at what was probably the north end of US 341. The burgundy car is heading east on Zebulon Street (which becomes Forsyth Street east of Main), or southbound on US 41. After the bypass was built, the US 341 designation was applied to it, and then it ended where it met US 41 on the north end of town:

Nelson, Aug. 2005

Northbound US 41 is straight ahead; downtown Barnesville is to the right via what was then southbound US 41. Below was the view looking the opposite direction (south on US 41):

Back then, the mainline became US 341, while US 41 traffic had to take a left turn. Just ahead was the first southbound confirming marker:

Not long after those photos were taken, another bypass was completed, this one in the southeast quadrant of Barnesville. At that time US 41 traffic was changed, such that it now follows the former US 341 down to the junction with the new bypass. If you can get better photos from this junction, please contact me, but for now I'll settle for what Google has to offer - the shot below is looking southeast on US 41:

This used to be US 341, but now it's US 41, which continues to the left on the new bypass to connect with its original alignment. US 341 has been truncated by about four miles, such that it now begins straight ahead. The photo below is from the perspective of a driver heading southwest on the new bypass, or northbound on US 41:

The intersecting highway was once US 341, but now it's northbound US 41 that continues to the right. To the left is the north beginning of US 341. The shots below are from northbound US 341, approaching the new bypass, onto which signage directs southbound US 41 traffic:

The assembly in the distance is shown close-up below:

US 341 used to continue ahead, but now it ends here, and straight ahead is northbound US 41.
