US 82 is represented by the purple line beginning in Brunswick GA. Its current western terminus is in Alamogordo NM; the red line west from there to Las Cruces is the historic extent of US 82. Also shown in red is US 82's original routing to near Midway GA.
US 90 is the purple line from Jacksonville Beach FL to Van Horn TX. The red line extending north of Van Horn to Pine Springs is a historic extention of US 90 that was proposed but probably never actually signed. The blue line between Houston and San Antonio is Alternate US 90, part of which was once mainline US 90.
US 190 is the blue line from near Iraan TX to Slidell LA.
US 290 is the blue line from Houston to near Harper TX. Its original route from San Antonio to Davis Mtn. Jct. TX is shown in red.
