End of historic US highway 110
In the 1920s and '30s, US 10 ran both east and west of that intersection. At the time that photo was taken, US 10 was on a newer bypass to the west, but was still using its original route to the east. Now the new US 10 is complete in both directions, and old US 10 east of the intersection is now WI hwy. 96. This photo was looking east on WI 110:

WI 110 turns right there, and ends at its junction with the new US 10. Also the right is westbound WI 96 (which also ends at US 10). Eastbound WI 96 is straight ahead (but was detoured at the time of that photo). That perspective is looking along what was once eastbound US 10, and the beginning of US 110 was to the right.

Ironically, the portion of WI 110 that was formerly US 110 was decommissioned when US 45 was re-routed. So the only remaining portion of WI 110 is the segment that was added after 1960, and only about a mile of that ever served as US 110.
So from 1928-1938, did US 110 end on New York or Murdock, where those roads intersect Jackson? Probably not. Rather, US 110 was likely dual-signed with US 41 down to its original endpoint (Jackson/Algoma), because that is where both the county courthouse and city hall are located.
In 1938 US 110 was re-designated as WI 110. Since then the description of WI 110 has been changed, and it no longer extends to Oshkosh at all.
